Get Ready for 'Suicide Squad': Jared Leto Covers 'Entertainment Weekly' as The Joker

Posted on 7/8/2016

On Aug. 5, we’ll finally get a chance to watch Jared Leto perform in arguably the summer’s most anticipated film.

We’ve already heard from director David Ayer that the film crew pretty much stops working to watch Leto play the Joker on set. We’ve gotten some little tastes of Leto at work. Now here’s the latest bit of promo to whet our appetites: Leto, along with Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, covering the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly:

Speaking to Total Film in March, Ayer described the experience of watching Leto's Joker as one in which "the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.”

"What Jared has done is absolutely incredible," he said. "When he steps onto the set the world stops. Everything stops. What he’s done is so powerful, so menacing, so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he’s so fascinating."

The Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman also indulged in extracurricular activities, like sending used condoms and dead animals to his co-stars.

The Leto/Robbie cover is one of four variations for the current EW issue. The three others are: Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Will Smith as Deadshot and Joel Kinsman as Rick Flag; Adam Beach as Slipknot, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc; Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Jay Hernandez as Diablo and Karen Fukuhara as Katana.
